  • Tour to ride the Natchez Trace and for me to finish riding in all 50 states (2009). We (David my riding partner and I) drove from Minneapolis, MN to St. Louis, MO. We rode through the following states on our way back to St. Louis, in a big circle, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas and Missouri. We then headed for West Virginia and I finished riding in all 50 states.

  • Tour to ride in 8 new states(2007) - Portland, Oregon to Fargo, ND by Amtrak - Drive to Vermillion, SD - ride in SD and NE (2 new states) - drive to Minneapolis, ride around Minneapolis (the home of my riding partner) - drive to Chicago, IL (Midway Airport), ride into Chicago - Take Amtrak to Worster, MA - by bike to Woonsocket, RI new state - East Windson, CT new state - Salibury, CT - New Paltz, NY - Port Jarvis, NY - East Stroudsburg, PA - Washington, NJ - Quakertown, PA - Downingtown, PA - ride into Delaware and back - Delta, PA - Ellicott, MD - Washington D.   • Minneapolis to Minneapolis - the long way (2006) Portland, Oregon to Minneapolis by Amtrak - by bike to Menomonie, WI.,Neillsville, Stevens Point, New London, Sherwood (High Cliff State Park), Kewaunee - ferry to Ludington, MI., by bike to Interlochen, Traverse City, Petoskey, Mackinaw City - ferry to Mackinaw Island - ferry to St. Ignace, by bike to Blaney Park, Munising, Marquette, Baraga, Houghton, Copper Harbor, Houghton, Silver City, Bessemer, Boulder Junction, WI, Park Falls, Cable, Iron River, Duluth, MN., Two Harbors, Aurora, Orr, International Falls, Baudette, Warroad, Roseau, Greenbush (Lake Bronson SP), St Malo, Manitoba, Birds Hill Park - Winnipeg (4 days to attend the Winnipeg Folk Music Festival), Hallock, MN., Grand Forks, Fertile, Hawley, Lindertree (farm on Hwy 35), Alexandria, St. Cloud, Minneapolis (spent a total of 7 days at David’s house). Minneapolis to Portland by Amtrak. Total miles tour = 3320. Total miles from when I left home until I returned home = 3556. As usual this tour was with my riding partner David, who lives in Minneapolis.

  • Portland to Tulare (CA) - via Salem (OR), Eugene, Roseburg, Medford, Weed (CA), Red Bluff, Paradise, Penn Valley, Sacramento, Santa Nella, Kettleman City, Tulare, 10 days, 932 miles (1997)

  • Portland to Medford (OR) or Weed (CA) - via Salem (OR), Eugene, Roseburg, Medford, Weed. To Medford = 300 miles - 4 days, to Weed = 375 miles - 5 days. I have done this tour many times.

  • Seattle to Portland (the long way) - via Twanoh State Park (WA), Elma, Lewis & Clark State Park, Cathlamet, Warrenton (OR), Nehalem,, Cape Lookout State Park, Davils Lake State Park, South Beach State Park, Honeyman State Park, Eugene, Salem, Portland 16 days, 762 miles. Most of this tour was with the folks from Adventure Cycling, Seattle to Eugene. They call this tour "Sound to Sea." I rode home to Portland when the tour was over.
